Commissioned for and dedicated to euphonium soloist Micah Parsons, this captivating five-minute work is a masterclass in lyrical expression. As the title suggests, the music possesses a deeply expressive, singing quality, offering a beautiful vehicle for instrumentalists to showcase their mastery of phrasing, tone production, and breath control.

Written in a classic ternary (A-B-A) form, the piece foregoes a traditional introduction. Instead, the piano commences immediately with the main theme, joined bars later by the euphonium. Rather than a standard 'solo with accompaniment,' the work is best approached as a true duet. Success relies on a seamless musical balance and a sense of conversational dialogue between both performers.

The download comes with PDF solo parts in bass clef and Bb treble clef, and piano accompaniment, as well as an MP3 backing track.
