The composer Espen Haukås writes: 'This piece was written for two talented young percussionists in Knarvik Skulekorps, near Bergen (Norway) in 2011. They were promised the opportunity to join the main school band for the National Youth Championship in June in their last year as junior band members. But there was a change of plan, with a change of music which made that dream for them impossible. I therefore composed this little suite for 2 percussionists, for them to have a goal and motivation towards the end of the season despite the missing opportunity to participate in the National Championship.'
