The music of Brian Bowen, FTCL, came into prominence within The Salvation Army, where many of his compositions and arrangements have been published.

He was Bandmaster for 25 years of the Salvation Army Band of Staines (his English home town) and also played flugel horn in the International Staff Band (1964-76).

For many years he worked in London as a music editor for The Salvation Army, Josef Weinberger Ltd and principally Schott/Eulenburg. In 1986 he moved to the USA to become Bandmaster of the New York Staff Band.

In 1992 he became a freelance music editor and resided with his wife, Lois, in Sarasota, Florida.

Brian sadly passed away, aged 82, in September 2022 and BrookWright is pleased to continue his legacy by making some of his music available. Prior to his death, Brian left with BrookWright Music his works 'Angel Voices' (Rhapsody for Soprano Cornet & Band), 'Drink to me only' (Flugel Solo with Brass Band), 'Emerald Isle Fantasy' (Tenor Horn Solo with Brass Band), and 'Good Friday Music' (Brass Band).
