Joshua Tyler Jameson

Joshua Tyler Jameson is a composer and arranger based in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in music for British-style brass band. An eight-time recipient of U.S. Open Brass Band Championships awards for new composition or arrangement, he writes music that combines vivid storytelling, expressive melodies, and a wide range of instrumental colors.

A founding member of Dublin Silver Band since 2010, Jameson serves as a composer and creative consultant. His longstanding involvement with the ensemble informs his writing and his collaborative approach to developing concert and competition programs.

Drawing inspiration from history, mythology, and human experience, his original works include, among others, 'Pharaoh of the Exodus and Bushidō – The Way of the Warrior'. His music explores both lyrical intimacy and dramatic intensity, with percussion playing a central role in shaping atmosphere and narrative. His award-winning arrangements include 'Appalachian Spring', 'Heat of the Day', and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.

Jameson welcomes collaborations with ensembles and commissioners, developing new works around their musicians, their ideas, and the stories they want to share.
