Grant Jameson is Principal Euphonium of Dallas Brass Band, having performed as guest soloist with bands including Cory, Grimethorpe Colliery, Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden's. He was also Principal Euphonium of Flowers, Tredegar Town, Tongwynlais and Woodfalls bands. Back Grant Jameson Originally from Dublin, Ohio, Grant Jameson has spent extensive time both in the United States and the United Kingdom. He received his Bachelor of Music and Masters degrees from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff (UK) where he studied with David Childs for six years. During his time in the UK, Grant immersed himself in the British brass band tradition and won many awards, including Best Soloist at the Welsh Open (2014). Grant has also performed as guest soloist with many of the UK's finest bands, including Cory, Grimethorpe Colliery, Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden's. Grant was also Principal Euphonium of Tredegar Town, Tongwynlais and Woodfalls bands, before joining the Flowers Band, with whom he won various contests and featured as a soloist, performing part of Sir Karl Jenkin's Euphonium Concerto, on the band's highly acclaimed CD release - 'Celebrate! - 50 years of Flowers'. Now residing in Texas, USA, he recently became Principal Euphonium of the Dallas Brass Band. Grant was the winner of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Competition (2013, 2014 and 2016) and gave several world premières with his award-winning euphonium quartet. In 2015 Grant won the prestigious RWCMD Concerto Competition and performed Joseph Horovitz's Euphonium Concerto with the RWCMD Orchestra. During the same year he appeared as soloist with the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, performing as a duet artist alongside Philip Cobb. In addition Grant also won the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award (2015), the first American to ever achieve this distinction. As a recording artist, Grant has released two solo albums: 'Genesis' (2015) and 'Versatility Reimagined' (2019). He's also been featured on television and radio with broadcasts by the BBC and S4C. In 2019 Grant appeared alongside fellow Besson Euphonium Artist, David Childs, performing duets at New York's Rainbow Lounge in a concert to honor Hollywood A-lister, Catherine Zeta-Jones CBE. Currently a DMA candidate and Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, Grant is busy as both performer and teacher, with a large private euphonium studio spanning the DFW metroplex. Back Jack Lythaby Jack Lythaby hails from Lydbrook in the Forest of Dean and began his musical career at the age of 10. He soon joined Lydbrook Training Band and rose through the ranks to join their Championship section Senior band, becoming Solo Horn at the age of 16. Throughout his time at Lydbrook, Jack was also a member of both the National Children’s and National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, at the latter he progressed onto the Solo Horn bench. He travelled the length of the country competing in solo contests and, in 2017, was awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Horn’ prize at the Foden’s Band Solo Competition. Jack joined Tredegar Band in the spring of 2018 and has enjoyed contest and concert performances across Europe. Off the concert platform, Jack has been involved with multiple high profile CD recordings, from critically acclaimed anniversary recordings of Ralph Vaughan-Williams and Gustav Holst to the solo CDs of James Fountain and Peter Moore. In October, he will be recording Gavin Higgins’ Concerto Grosso for Brass Band and Orchestra alongside the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, having given the world premiere performance at the BBC Proms in the summer of 2022. Also in 2022, Jack graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he studied under the tutelage of tenor horn virtuoso Owen Farr, with a first-class honours degree. Whilst at the RWCMD, he also won the College’s Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Prize and June Emerson Launchpad Prize with his quartet, Vulcan Brass. Jack was appointed as Tredegar Band’s Solo Horn player in the summer of 2022.
